In “Pat Robertson’s own words”:http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/wireStory?id=1975129: “If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms. There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest.”

Amazing. The coasts of America will be lashed by storms. With hurricanes increasing in number each year, America will be hit by storms. Truly a divine revelation.

Mr. Robertson reminds me of some elderly drivers; he keeps crashing but no one’s figured out how to kindly and gently take away his license.

One Response to “God’s Weatherman”

  1. Dad Says:

He surely has lots of qualifiers (”IF I herard right…”, “There MAY WELL BE…”) - he must have had some legal training. With these qualifiers he might have an argument that Deut 18:20-22 ought NOT to apply to him but it is a soboring passage for those who glibbly say they speak for the Lord. Here it is: “20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death. 21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD ?” 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.”

On the other hand, I am pretty sure that I just read a verse saying that a believer will know the future; can’t think of it this moment but I suspect it would be a case where context must be carefully considered.

Finally, I know the feeling of wishing you could take the keys away from some Christians, however, in the spirit of Mt 7 (log in the eye) I am confident that God feels that way about me frequently … maybe even you!

PS - Stay away from my keys kid; not ready to give em up just yet!
