Rest assured, Baby O was fine after the tears subsided.
We had such a fun time with O’s first Christmas. It started Christmas Eve at Calvin CRC our home church, where during the solemn singing of Silent night with the lights dimmed and the church lit solely with the members holding candles, Baby O decides to sing along AHHHHH BWAAAH DHAAAAH. Since everyone at church seems to love him the only comments were about how cute he was singing along. Then we went to Mor Mor and Opa Johnson’s to open a first round of gifts. He laughed like crazy while he helped me tear open his gifts. On Christmas morning we opened gifts at home, then went to GG Burkall’s for more food and gifts. Then we had fun with a sled ride around the yard. Lots of laughing here too. (The hardest I’ve ever heard him laugh though, was watching me shovel the driveway, his laughter definitely made the chore more fun!) We also traveled down to Indy to have a Christmas celebration with the Adams side of the family, again, lots of laughs!
This all started with taking pictures for our Christmas card. I asked Opa (Kelly’s dad) to take some pictures and he brought us out to a woodchoppers shot. This alone made me nervous, but all was safe as the hatched was lodged deep enough into the wood so I couldn’t even pull it out. It made for an adorable picture. When we went down to Indy for the Adams’ Christmas, Grandpa Rick had not only seen the photo, but found a way to one-up the Johnson’s shoot. A chainsaw… wow is all I can say. Another safe photo shoot, but I’m starting to get nervous, I mean, what’s next a power mulcher from the tree chopping companies??
