Baby O and Ella

Recently Baby O has acquired a new skill: Throwing a ball. He gets a big kick out of merely throwing the ball, but now he has realized that Ella will go get the ball and bring it back. This is hilarious, but only for O. Ella keeps looking at me like, “why don’t you throw the ball, he kinda sucks at it.” Eventually Ella will refuse to give it to O and only drop it in my lap. Good times, good times.

Since Kyle and I have been in college we have been supporting compassion international by having “adopted daughters.”  I’ve had many a post on baby O, but never one on Evelyn and Patience.  Evelyn was our first compassion kid and we got her when I was a Junior at Calvin, it has been very rewarding watching her grow and especially watching her grow in Christ.  Patience we adopted after we were married.  We asked for the child who had been waiting the longest for a sponsor and her name fit- Patience.  She has had a rough time lately, her parents have passed away and yet she always writes in her letters how she prays for us and how lucky she is to have us.  Her letters sometimes bring me to tears how undeserving I am of my blessings.  If you have the opportunity I would say go get yourself a compassion child, they are more blessing than you will ever realize.  www.Compassion.com

The riches of the Internet:

* The subtle beauty of subversive humor and unexpected virtuosity on the daily commute.
* A skillful blending of the old and new in a tribute to classic cinema.
* Utilitarian structures finding new life as striking architecture.
* Yes We Can.

One final note on the last item: Obama may be the most liberal Senator of 2007, but boy does he go down smooth.
